Oroville Man Pleads Guilty to Bank Robbery

SACRAMENTO, CA—United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced today that Shawn Victor Webber, 35, of Oroville, pleaded guilty this morning before U.S. District Judge Frank C. Damrell Jr. to four bank robberies.
This case is the product of an investigation by the Grass Valley Police Department, Chico Police Department, Lincoln Police Department, the Yuba City Police Department, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rodriguez is prosecuting the case.
According to court documents, Webber robbed four banks:

  • Wells Fargo Bank, 692 Freeman Lane, Grass Valley, on 03/04/2010;
  • Wells Fargo Bank, 2485 Notre Dame Boulevard, Chico, on 03/16/2010;
  • Tri-Counties Bank 765 South Highway 65, Lincoln, on 03/24/2010; and
  • Wells Fargo Bank, 1286 Stabler Lane, Yuba City, on 04/01/2010.

He is scheduled to be sentenced October 18, 2010, and faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each bank robbery offense. The actual sentence, however, will be determined at the discretion of the court after consideration of any applicable statutory sentencing factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a number of variables.
