Man Stabbed to Death in North Sacramento Fight

On April 17, 2011, at approximately 7:53 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 4600 block of Galbrath Drive in north Sacramento regarding a person that had been stabbed. Upon arrival, deputies found an eighteen-year old man, who had sustained a knife wound to his neck, lying in the front yard of a residence. Attempts to render emergency medical treatment to the subject were unsuccessful, and he died at the location.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was with a male friend earlier in the evening when he encountered a group of individuals. An argument ensued between the victim and a male member of the other group. The verbal confrontation led to a physical altercation, during which time, the victim sustained the fatal knife wound to his neck. The other subject involved in the altercation, an eighteen-year old male, was injured by the victim and transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Several individuals involved with the two men were detained at the scene, to be interviewed by investigators. Detectives have not yet established a motive for this altercation, and were canvassing the neighborhood in an effort to locate witnesses to the assault.
