On May 11, 2011, the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) and North Division’s High Impact Team arrested three known gang members for a rash of graffiti incidents in the Arden Arcade area of Sacramento County. 

Jesus Nava, 19, Dana Aviles, 18, and a 14-year old male were charged with felony vandalism and participation in criminal street gang activity. Nava and Aviles were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and the 14-year old was booked at Sacramento County Juvenile Hall.

In response to a recent spike in gang-related graffiti in the Arden-Arcade area, GSU detectives and the High Impact Team conducted a directed operation in the area. They contacted the suspects, who were identified by witnesses as being responsible for spray-painting gang-related graffiti at several locations throughout the neighborhood. In addition, evidence linking the suspects to the graffiti was discovered by officers at the time of the arrests.
