General Public Should Prepare for New Watt Avenue Off-Ramps & Traffic Signals Starting at 10:30 P.M. on 12/13/2013

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that there will be lane closures and traffic shifts for work related to new off-ramps and signalized Watt Avenue intersections at the Watt Avenue @ US-50 interchange.

This project work will start at 10:30 P.M. on Friday, December 13, and end at 6 A.M. on Saturday, December 14. Upcoming interchange project work is described below:

Night of December 13 (Friday)  US-50 Eastbound and Westbound Access to Watt Avenue: The eastbound and westbound US-50 off-ramps to Watt Avenue will have lane closures and traffic shifts. Limited access to northbound and southbound Watt Avenue will be maintained throughout the evening, with one traffic lane open at all times.

 Traffic Shifts to New Off-Ramps: During the evening, northbound and southbound Watt Avenue traffic will be shifted to new off-ramp lanes and signalized intersections.
 Signalized Intersections: The new off-ramps will lead to two new signalized intersections for northbound and southbound Watt Avenue. During the course of the evening, traffic signal testing will be underway.

Flashing traffic signals and flaggers will be used to move traffic through the new intersections during the testing period.
