Two Arrested on Suspicion of Human Trafficking of Minors in Stockton 'Backpage' Sting


Two Stockton men were arrested on suspicion of trafficking minors as part of three month sting operation.

Arrested on Wednesday, April 26 were two 19-year old males, Jimmy Macias (below) and Recardo Spivey (above), on numerous counts of human trafficking.

The three month long investigation on the website stockton.backpage.com led Stockton Police to the alleged trafficking of eight female juvenile’s ranging from the ages of 14 to 17 by Spivey and Macias.

A popular online classified advertising site, Dallas-based Backpage.com has been widely criticized as venue for advertising of prostitution operations. After the arrest of key executives and intense political pressure, the company agreed to discontinue it adult services section.

Both suspects were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. This is still an active investigation as investigators are still looking for additional victims.
