Fairfield Announces Appointment of New Police Chief

Chief Randy Fenn, Fairfield Police.
The City of Fairfield has announced a new police chief has been selected by Fairfield City Manager David White. Interim Chief of Police Randy Fenn was selected as Fairfield’s new Chief of Police.
Fenn has served as interim chief since March 2017 following the retirement of Joseph Allio. The announcement was made to a crowd of department members yesterday afternoon.
“We conducted a nationwide search to find the best person to lead our Police Department forward, and to Fairfield’s great fortune the top candidate comes from within our ranks," White said. "Randy has already become a valued member of the City’s management team and has a genuine respect for community-oriented policing and government.”
With over 25 years of law enforcement experience, Fenn came to the Fairfield Police Department in 2012 as a lieutenant, after serving with departments in Concord and Truckee. In 2014, Fenn was promoted to captain.
Fenn holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Relations, and earned distinction as a Master of Science in Criminal Justice.
"I look forward to continuing to work with the women and men of Fairfield Police Department and build on our reputation for partnering with our community to address public safety and quality of life issues,” Fenn said. “It is especially gratifying for me to serve in the place where my family and I call home.”
Certain terms of Fenn’s appointment are on the July 25, 2017 City Council Agenda for approval.
