In jury trial verdict issued yesterday in Superior Court, a Sacramento man was found guilty of attempted murder in a 2014 Del Paso Heights shooting.

Joseph Fair was convicted by a jury of attempted murder and assault with a firearm. The jury also found true multiple allegations that Fair personally used a firearm, personally and intentionally discharged a firearm causing great bodily injury and paralysis, and that Fair committed the offenses for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with the criminal street gang Del Paso Heights (DPH) Bloods. 

On December 12, 2014, the victim and his brother went to a well-known Del Paso Heights Bloods hangout on Marysville Boulevard. When a DPH Blood member started a fight with the victim, the victim was thrown out of the club. 

Fair followed the victim outside, and then shot him in the back. The bullet caused damage to the victim’s spine and aorta, resulting in permanent paralysis. 

Sentencing is scheduled for August 16, 2017 with Fair facinga maximum sentence of 34 years to life in prison.
