A Sacramento medical marijuana physician was convicted today of  forcible rape, forcible digital penetration, and two counts of sexual exploitation of a patient.

The defendant, Logan Vincent Ford, 53, treated a 53-year old female victim who came to his practice  at the 420MD clinic for a marijuana prescription to treat pain from a variety of health issues. During the appointment, Ford was proven to have committed forcible sexual assault on the victim.

The victim reported the assault later that same day and participated in an evidentiary exam at a hospital where unknown male DNA was recovered during the exam. Testing by the District Attorney’s Crime Lab determined the DNA was a match to Ford.

Along with this charges, Ford is also facing charges in Alameda County for allegedly committing a sexual battery against a different patient during an exam at a Berkeley 420MD clinic. Ford faces a maximum sentence of 16 years in prison in the Sacramento County case with sentencing scheduled for November 17, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 23 Judge Geoffrey Goodman.
