Foothill Farms High School Basketball Coach Arrested, Accused of Sex With Minor

Stephen Calton.

A man who was a boy's basketball head coach at Foothills Farms High School is being held at the Sacramento County Jail after being accused of having sex with minors.

In June the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department was made aware of an alleged sexual assault involving a juvenile student at Foothill High School and an adult staff member. The incident reportedly occurred approximately two years ago and the victim is now a former student.

Sheriff’s Department Detectives conducted an extensive follow-up investigation into this matter and were able to identify a suspect in the case. The suspect was identified as Stephen Calton, 32, of Citrus Heights.

On Thursday, November 29, 2018, Sheriff’s Department Detectives arrested Calton at his home without incident. Calton is charged with oral copulation with a person under 18 years of age.

Calton was also booked for a violation of his probation status and due to the violation of probation, he is currently ineligible for bail. Arraignment is on Monday, December 3.
