DUI, driver license checkpoint this weekend in Citrus Heights



The Citrus Heights Police Department has announced that a DUI-drivers license checkpoint will be conducted this weekend.

The checkpoint will be conducted on Friday, August 16. The location has not been disclosed within Citrus Heights city limits but will be conducted for approximately seven hours starting at 8 p.m.  

In their statement, Citrus Heights Police said "DUI Checkpoints like this one are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests. Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment, with officers checking drivers for proper licensing." 


Funding for this checkpoint is provided to the Citrus Heights Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
