Two people were wounded during an early afternoon shooting in South Sacramento.

According to information released by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, a 911 call on Saturday, August 10 at 12:59 p.m. reported gunshots near Florin Road and Stockton Boulevard. The caller told dispatchers their vehicle was struck by gunfire as they were driving through the intersection and multiple vehicles were attempting to flee the area.
The caller updated the location a few minutes later to the intersection of 65th Street and Stockton Boulevard where several shell casings were found. Deputies made contact with the caller whose vehicle had multiple gun shots. No one inside this vehicle was hit.
About 20 minutes later the Sacramento Police Department contacted the Sheriff’s Communication Center and reported that two subjects presented themselves at the Kaiser South Emergency Department with gunshot wounds. Both subjects are being treated for their injuries. 
The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time. Detectives are asking anyone with information relating to this incident, to please contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP.
